Skoda India is likely to unveil the 2014 Yeti facelift at the upcoming Indian Auto Expo in Delhi, next month. The vehicle was first showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The two distinct variants of the new facelift Yeti have already been launched in some International markets. The ‘Yeti Outdoor’ is sportier and more rugged variant than the other one. With all new 2014 Yeti facelift, Skoda aims to offer comfortable city driving along with exciting off-roading experience to their customers.
In International market, the base variant of new Yeti comes powered with a 1.6-litre, four cylinder TDI engine that delivers a peak power output of 103bhp, while the top-end variant features a 2.0-litre TDI engine offering a maximum power of 168bhp. Skoda offers the front-wheel-drive with its base variant, whereas the Outdoor (top-end model) will be made available with both 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options.The Outdoor powertrain will be coupled with a six-speed DSG transmission. Skoda is likely to introduce both the new variants with same 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre engine options for their Indian buyers.
In terms of power and torque output, the 2.0-litre TDI power-unit might be equivalent to its existing version. But, it might be de-tuned for better fuel efficiency. The new grille, C-shaped lights with optional LEDs, rectangular-shaped headlight with optional bi-xenons, LED daytime running lights at the front, revised rear tailgates highlight the masculine, sportier and outgoing personality of the car. The 2014 Yeti facelift will come-up with four new shades and new alloy wheel options. The interior is sleeker and more comfortable than before. The new dashboard trim, redesigned steering wheel, additional fabric seat patterns and trims along with the optional a rear-view camera and automatic parallel parking system add more to its appearance and convenience level.
