2014 Tata Movus launched in India at 6.99 lakh

Tata Motors have rolled out the all-new Tata Movus utility vehicle in the Indian market today with prices starting at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi.) The large, comfortable and spacious people carrier is essentially, the refreshed version of the ailing Sumo Grande and can be had with a host of flexible three-row seating options with front-facing, side-facing and captain seats in the 7-, 8- and 9-seater variants.

The new Movus is being offered in two variants: CX and LX and is being powered by the same 2.2-litre VARICOR engine that serves the Sumo Grande, Safari, Safari Storme and the Aria. The unit is able to churn out 120PS of max power and 250Nm of peak torque. Tata Motors is claiming a best-in-class mileage of 15.16 kmpl for its new Movus. 

The utility vehicle comes fitted with Independent Double Wishbone with coil springs in the front and Parabolic Leaf Spring-type suspension for the rear wheels, which assists the large vehicle in negotiating uneven road surfaces with ease. The Movus has also been equipped with a new 260 dis Concentric Sleeve cylinder (self actuating clutch), which is said to reduce the clutch effort. With a ground clearance of 180mm, the ingress and egress of passengers is hassle free. The vehicle also features a large fuel tank with a capacity of 65 litres and a high load carrying capability. 

Turning radius of the Movus is a comparatively low at 5.35 metres and the vehicle is equipped with a tillable power steering system, making its easier to manoeuvre the Movus in tight spots. The Tata Movus is being offered in two exterior colour options: Porcelain White and Meteor Silver and also comes with an enhanced 3-Year engine warranty or 1,50,000 km, whichever is earlier.

The vehicle is commercially available at dealerships located in metros and select cities.”
