Our friends at Overdrive have reported that the 2015 Audi TT Coupe is all set to be launched on the coming 23rd April in the country. The Audi TT launch will be part of the Audi's ambitious plan to launch 5 vehicles in the coming months. The German autogiant has decided to launch the 45TFSI variant of the Audi TT initially in India.
The 45TFSI is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol motor that cranks out 230hp power and 370Nm torque. The power is dispersed equally to all four-wheel thanks to the trademark Quattro AWD system that comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2015 TT can do 0-100 in 5.3 seconds before topping out at 253 kmph.
Audi says that the new TT will be at least 50 kgs lighter than the current generation car, thanks to the MQB platform. Audi can also bring the much powerful TTS variant in the future that generates 310ps of power an 380 Nm of torque. Audi can also consider bringing the 2.0-litre TDI diesel motor in the new TT if need arises.
The new Audi TT will get the modern Virtual Cockpit that integrates the MMI screen and the instrument cluster into one unit. Also, to free the space on the central console, Audi has integrated the AC control to the jet-turbine like vents. Audi will bring the new TT via the CBU route from Audi’s Hungarian plant, where the coupe is manufactured from August last year.
Once launched, the new Audi TT will rival against the Mercedes SLK Class and BMW Z4. Expected price can be upwards of Rs 60 Lakhs.
