Its barely been a month since BMW, the German luxury autogiant, unveiled the 3-Series facelift internationally, and surprisingly the new sedan has been reported to be in India for homologation purposes. If import-export website Zauba is to be believed, then BMW India has imported a couple of units of new 3-Series facelift in the county for research and testing. BMW 3-Series facelift would launch in India by the end of 2015.
As for the cosmetic tweaks, the BMW 3-Series facelift comes with a couple of revisions at the exterior. It flaunts a new set of bumpers at the front and rear with redesigned air-dams. The sedan boasts of new LED day time running lights, LED tail-lamp cluster, and newly-designed alloy wheels. In addition, the company is offering full LED headlamps as an optional feature with the 3-Series facelift in the interntaional markets. Inside the cabin, the updated saloon gets chrome highlights for the controls, air vents and central control panel and a sliding cover for the front cup-holders. Moreover, the navigation system is updated with improved graphics quality and a new colour head-up display.
The two imported units of BMW 3-Series facelift from Germany are one unit of 320i and one unit of the 320d. The BMW 320i is powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder petrol motor which churns out a maximum power of 180bhp and peak torque of 290 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel variant 320d gets a 1998cc, 4-cylinder motor which rakes in a top power of 188bhp and peak torque of 400Nm. Just so you know, 2016 New BMW 7-Series would have its world premiere today - June 10, 2015 - in Germany. The sales are expected to commence sometimes around August, while an India launch is expected around mid-2016.
