BMW India has officially announced that it would launch the 2015 6-Series facelift on May 29, 2015 in the country. The German luxury automaker would launch the Gran Coupe variant - the four door version - of the new BMW 6-Series. Just so you know, the 2015 BMW 6-Series facelift was unveiled globally last year in December. It comes with an array of cosmetic changes, while the mechanics have been retained from the ongoing model.
Talking about the changes, the 2015 BMW 6-Series facelift gets new kidney grille, restyled bumper and LED headlamp cluster as standard. The new saloon comes with a new pattern of alloy wheels. The rear bumper is tweaked as well, and the new car gets four additional new exterior shades. The interior cabin is mostly unchanged, except the introduction of a new two-tone leather upholstery and improved quality of interior elements. The India-spec new BMW 6-Series would be launched in diesel (640d) trim only. BMW India would sell the 6-Series in the country enroute CBU. It would rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz CLS Class and Audi A7 in India. For those asking, the company already sells the high-performance version of the 6-Series - the BMW M6 Gran Coupe - in the country.
Under the hood, the 2015 6-Series facelift would have a 3.0L, 6-cylinder diesel motor. It would pump out a massive power of 313bhp at 4400rpm and peak torque of 630Nm between 1500-2000rpm. It would be linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which would transmit the power to the rear wheels of the saloon. The new sedan would do a 0-100kmph in 5.4 seconds, while clocking an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
