Ford Brazil has reportedly, made some significant changes to the trim levels offered on the EcoSport compact crossover in the local market. To begin with the base ’S’ variant has been dropped from the range and it has been replaced by a new trim level called FreeStyle 2.0 PowerShift.
Powering the new variant is a 2.0-litre flex-fuel engine, which delivers 150PS of max power when ran on ethanol and 145PS when on petrol. The engine is mated to a 6-Speed automatic dual clutch gearbox. Feature-wise, the new EcoSport variant benefits from a roof rack, on-board computer, reverse sensors, front and rear electric windows and lumbar adjustments for the driver seat.
It also gets new 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/60 R16 tyres and an updated infotainment system, which includes four set of speakers and Ford’s SYNC connectivity system. Safety features includes, ABS, ESC, TCS, EBD, dual airbags and side airbags. Lastly, the new variant will be offered with three brand new exterior colour options: Solid White Vanilla, Dublin Metallic Silver and Pearlescent Red Merlot.
While, it is highly unlikely that Ford India would introduce the new Freestyle 2.0 PowerShift variant in the Indian market, they could introduce the three new exterior colour options with the the refreshed EcoSport SUV.
