It's been more than a year when the U.S autogiant launched the most awaited compact SUV in the Indian market, the Ecosport. And oh God! It received a response like none other, that year or the coming year, so much so that the waiting period went upto a year for the car. While everything was fine with the car, starting from the well managed proportions to the one of its kind EcoBoost engine, not many people in the international markets were happy about the rear mounted spare wheel, which they think, was way out of proportions.

And it seems like Ford has listened to the plea of the customers and as the spy images of the new 2015 Ford Ecosport face-lift reveal, there is no spare wheel at the rear tailgate. The car spied for the very first time in its semi disguised avatar has otherwise, very limited visual difference with the current model. Since the international markets were not happy with the wheel, the 2015 model could very well be launched in those markets only, since no other visual difference is visible.

Going through the images, the 2015 Ford Ecosport doesn’t seem to update any other feature. The side profile looks same with the rims, rear parking sensors, taillights, mirrors, and  wheels, everything unchanged. The tail-gate though, will have minor changes due to the unmounting of the spare wheel, but where does the wheel go, nobody knows.

The only changes will be in the interiors, which will receive some minor updates. An updated infotainment system, slightly revised materials and few feature edition can be possible. The engines, though, are expected to be the same 1.5 TDCi (Diesel), 1.0 Ecoboost (Petrol) and 1.5 TiVCT (Petrol).
