Ford Endeavour is an important product for the American autogaint by any means and that is evident by the efforts Ford is putting to revive the Endeavour moniker as the true buff SUV. Launched recently in Thailand, the new Endeavour has been caught testing again by our friends at Indianautoblogs. Ford Endeavour is sold as Ford Everest in most of the markets outside India.
The 2015 Ford Endeavour will be assembled in Ford's Chennai plant and got a 2.0-litre petrol engine along with a 2.2-litre four cylinder diesel unit and a much chunkier 3.2-litre five cylinder diesel unit. In India though, the SUV will get only the diesel motors like the current generation Ford Endeavour. The power will be sent via a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Talking about the looks, the new Endeavour is indeed new with no visible similarity to the outgoing model. The SUV is trimmed a little while the ground clearance has been increased. Interiors are refreshed with all modern equipments from 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system to 9-speaker audio system. The SUV will be offered in five shades- Cool White, Black Mica Metallic, Silver Aluminum Metallic, Sparkling Gold Metallic and Red Sunset Metallic.
The new Endeavour is slated to be launched in the later part of the year and will compete against Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CR-V, Ssangyong Rexton, Isuzu MU-7 and Toyota Fortuner. The pricing is expected to be somewhere around Rs 25 Lakhs.
