Honda is all set to showcase their prototype version of all new Honda Jazz a year or so before it can come in the production form. Jazz, as seen in the latest images, is largely unchanged from the outside apart from 30mm extension in wheelbase, although the interiors are not yet revealed. The 2015 Jazz will be based on Honda's global compact platform, the same platform for Civic and the new HR-V.
But, the major change comes under the hood. 2015 Honda Jazz now gets a new 1.3 liter i-VTEC petrol engine, supported by the Honda's Earth Dreams Technology. This new technology ensures high fuel efficiency and improved performance. A 6 speed manual transmission and a CVT- continuously variable transmission will be used.
For more details, we have to wait until the Paris Motor show, slated to be held in October 2014. Honda hopes that Jazz will be a success in India this time, as the last Jazz wasn't able to buzz the bell among the Indian buyers.
Speaking on the new Honda Jazz, Leon Brannan, Head of Car for Honda UK, said "The Jazz is a hugely important car for Honda in the UK, and has been a runaway success since its original launch. It has an extremely loyal following, its reliability is legendary. The new Jazz with its sleek, modern design, refined and comfortable ride, will, we are confident, build even more loyal followers."
