RecommendedJaguar F-Type Convertible spied
The 2015 Hyundai Sonata has been spied recently being tested in the snow covered Arctic wasteland of southeastern Michigan. The spy shots have been coming up in news streams throughout January, and has been making people all over the world curious about what the upgrades in the car are, besides the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design. This will be the second car in the Hyundai stable to get this new design language update.
There are rumors about an engine upgrade as well. The 2.4 liter turbocharged four-cylinder might be ditched and in its place there will have a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine similar to the one that they have on the Veloster Turbo. The current engine makes about 190 bhp of power and if the engine from the Veloster Turbo is used, it would make about 201 bhp and that would put the Sonata slightly ahead of the curve.
This new version of the Sonata is crutial for Hyundai as its main competitors in the mid-sized sedan segment have overtaken it and have left it in the fourth place. Models from Ford, Honda, Mazda and Nissan have overtaken Hyundai with their Fusion, Accord, Camry and Altima in a test that was held two years ago. Even when it comes to the pricing, Hyundai will have to come up with a pricetag on this car that is close to the competition's.
It is codenamed LF for now and should make its debut this year at the New York auto show in April. It doesnt seem like it will make its way to the Indian Auto Expo 2014, where Hyundai seems to have a low profile this year.
