Hyundai India is all set to launch the Verna facelift on February 18, 2015 in the country. Our team had already driven the car during the media drives and they have come impressed. The new Verna is largely based on the Russia based Solaris and host an array of cosmetic changes. Hyundai just released a teaser image on their twitter handle showcasing a date.
The updated Verna, also known as the Verna 4S adorns the new Hyundai's Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy, which has already been seen in the next-generation Sonata. On the exterior, the new Verna will get a completely new front fascia with new and bigger headlamps, all-new bumper and newly designed fog lamps. On the side profile tough and the rear profile though, the car is identical to the current-generation sedan.
Inside the cabin, there are few upgrades in the form of new infotainment system and better quality materials. Mechanically, the 2015 Hyundai Verna will continue to get the same set of engine - the petrol engines (1.4L & 1.6L) and the diesel engines (1.4L & 1.6L CRDi). Though the biggest change is a more responsive steering wheel.
The current model of Hyundai Verna was launched around four years back and needed a much required facelift since Honda City has already got a new model and Maruti launched its premium sedan, Ciaz in the market. The new Verna will command a minor premium in terms of pricing than the current model.
