Being launched with 8 variants, 2015 New Swift DZire is 13 percent more fuel efficient than the preceding model, and also bears an array of cosmetic changes.

At the outside, Maruti Swift Dzire facelift flaunts a new bumper with redesigned smoked headlamps. Moreover, the 2015 Dzire sedan comes with new chrome grille and chrome embodied fog lamp enclosures. The side profile is retained mostly, except for the introduction of newly-designed alloy wheels and power folding ORVMs with turn indicators. The company has also introduced 4 new color shades: Alp Blue, Cave Black, Magma Grey, and Sangria Red. However, it would be sold in the existing paint colors such as Pearl Arctic White, Silky Silver, and Prime Pacific Blue. Inside the cabin, Maruti has incorporated several premium features such as front and rear accessory socket, multi-function steering wheel, new fabric upholstery, and remote bootlid opener to name a few.

On the introduction of the new DZire, Mr. R.S Kalsi, Executive Director Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, "Taking forward our efforts to refresh our existing models, we present new DZire as India’s most fuel efficient car returning fuel efficiency of 26.59kmpl. The rich equipment list on the refreshed DZire that includes premium features like engine push start/stop system, reverse parking sensors, new motion alloy wheels and bluetooth with audio etc will be valued by the customers." The company has rolled out a total of 8 variants of the car, out of which 5 are petrol - including one automatic transmission variant - and remaining 3 are diesel ones.

Mechanically, the 2015 Maruti DZire is powered by the same set of petrol (1.2L K-Series) and diesel (1.3L Multi-jet) engine, albeit with re-tuning which has resulted in superior mileage. The diesel variants of new DZire are said to be yielding a class-leading fuel economy of 26.59kmpl (ARAI Specified), which makes it country's most efficient car. Earlier, this coveted title belonged to Maruti's mid-sized sedan Ciaz, which delivers 26.2kmpl. Talking about the petrol variants, they would return an impressive mileage of 20.85kmpl (ARAI specified). The former sees an improvement of 13 percent versus the outgoing model, whle the latter is 9 percent more efficient than the phased out model. The petrol motor churns out a maximum power of 83bhp and peak torque of 115Nm, while the diesel mill is good enough for 74 bhp and 190Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while a 4-speed automatic transmission is also on offer with the petrol trim.
