Mini India would launch the new Cooper S in the country this month, most probably on March 16, 2015. The Mini Cooper S comes with an array of cosmetic changes at the front, which makes it more desirable than ever. Also, the new model of Cooper S gets a more powerful engine. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 5 Lakhs more than the diesel variants, which were launched in November 2014.
Talking of the prominent exterior changes, 2015 Mini Cooper S sports a new black radiator grille with honeycomb designing. The redesigned front bumper is placed lower and comes with two big air-dams for better cooling of the car. The bonnet flaunts an air scoop, and the black roof along with wheel arches fit well with the low stance of hatchback. The latest iteration of Cooper hatch has red 'S' logos embossed on several places, which distinguishes it from the regular variants of the Cooper hatchback.
New Mini Cooper S would have a major change in terms of powertrains as it would come loaded with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine instead of the 1.6L engine, which features in the ongoing hatchback. It would churn out a maximum power of 192bhp and peak torque of 280Nm, while linked to a 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. It doesn't have a direct competitor in the country.
