Following the string of teaser sketches and images, Czech automaker Skoda has released the first batch of the official images of the 2015 Skoda Fabia that is slated to make its public debut at the upcoming 2014 Paris Motor Show in October.
Now in its third generation, the 2015 Skoda Fabia continues to underpin the company’s PQ25 platform. However, the 2015 model has been heavily updated to make it lighter and more fuel efficient than the outgoing model. We hear that the base petrol variant of the new Fabia weighs well under a ton, while the engine line-up of the new Fabia is said to be 17 per cent more fuel efficient that the current model.
Exterior updates seen on the new Fabia includes, new LED headlights and new grille, in line with the brand’s latest corporate identity. The cabin too, has received styling updates and is expected to come with a long list of customisation options. Furthermore, energy savings features such as the Start/Stop system and brake energy recovery system will be offered as standard across the range.
The 2015 Skoda Fabia hatchback is expected to hit the showroom floors in Europe shortly after its Paris debut in both hatchback and estate versions. The performance-oriented vRS version however, has been given a miss from the Fabia line-up, due to sluggish sales.
