Volkswagen India is all set to launch the 2015 Vento facelift on June 23, 2015 in the country. The German automaker, within a year's time, has updated the Vento twice as the ongoing model had debuted in September 2014. The advance bookings for the 2015 Volkswagen Vento has already started at all the company autorized dealerships at a token amount of Rs. 50000-75000. The 2015 Vento would bear subtle changes at the outside, equipment upgradation inside and would be more fuel efficient than before.
The current model of Volkswagen Vento - launched in September 2014 - only had new headlamps and different alloy design. However, the change are not bleak as the company has given the 2015 Vento facelift a new Passat-esque front grille along with restyled front bumper and rectanugular fog lamps with integrated cornering lights. At the rear-end, there is a redesigned bumper with slightly tweaked tail-lamp cluster. Volkswagen has focused more on chrome treatment as multiple equipments such as door handles and boot lid now feature chrome styling. The interior cabin is almost identical to the currnt model, save for the lighter color scheme and addition of a few features like cooled glove box, powered wing mirors and dead pedal.
Under the hood, the new sedan would retain the same 1.2L turbocharged petrol motor and 1.6L petrol engine in the gasoline guise. The former churns out a maximum power of 103bhp, while the latter generates 104bhp of top power. The fuel economies have improved a bit as the 1.2L engine would return 18.19 kmpl against the older model's 16.93kmpl and the 1.6L motor would deliver 16.09 kmpl in place of older model's 15.04kmpl. In the diesel fuel trim, the Vento would continue to be powered by the 1.5L diesel engine, which is good enough for 103bhp. As for the mileage, it has been upped to 20.64 kmpl from 20.34kmpl for the manual gearbox and 21.5 kmpl for the DSG automatic transmission from the current's 21.21kmpl.
