Aston Martin has launched the 2016 Rapide at a staggering price of Rs. 3.29 Crore (Ex. Showroom, Thane) in the country. It was launched by Mr. Neil Slade, General Manager, Aston Martin Middle East and North Africa, and Mr. Lalit Choudary, Managing Director, Infinity Cars. The exquisite supercar debuted at Performance Cars, a division of Infinity Cars dealership, which retails Aston Martins in India.
Talking about the new features of 2016 Aston Martin Rapide, it comes loaded with a 6.5-inch AMI III touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system boasts of audio, navigation, telephony functions and vehicle information. Speaking at the launch, Neil Slade, general manager, AMMENA , Aston Martin said, “The British marquee luxury sport automobile producer is especially excited to introduce the revamped 2016 model of the best selling Rapide to Indian automotive enthusiasts. This model offers unprecedented power and comfort at an extremely attractive price. India has been a market of strategic importance for Aston Martin and we are very delighted to launch the new Rapide in the country. Aston Martin has been very responsive to the demands of the Indian consumers and have therefore launched the new Rapide especially for India.”
Under the hood, the 2016 Rapide has a new 6.0L V12 motor which belts out 505bhp of top power. It is linked to an 8-speed automatic ZF transmission which propels the sedan to touch the 100kmph mark from standstill in just 4.6 seconds before topping out at 306kmph. As for safety, the supercar carries 8-airbags, dual pre-tensioning seat belts and load limiting technology for all the four occupants. Speaking on the decision to introduce the 2016 Rapide, Infinity Cars Managing Director, Lalit Choudary said, “The earlier Aston Martin Rapide is the highest selling four-door sports car in the country accounting for over 50 percent of the Aston Martin cars sold in India.
