Audi, the German luxury automaker, has launched the 2016 A4 sedan in the Indonesian market. It is being offered in two variants: front-wheel-drive (FWD) at IDR 990,000,000 (Around Rs. 49.23 Lakhs) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) at IDR 1,200,000,000 (Around Rs. 59.68 Lakhs). 2016 Audi A4 is expected to be the next big launch of the company in India, around August this year. It would be challenged by the likes of Mercedes Benz C Class, BMW 3-Series and Jaguar XE in the Indian market.
The Indonesian-spec 2016 Audi A4 carries features like Audi Matrix LED headlights, Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, Audi virtual cockpit and Audi smartphone interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration capability. For those asking, Audi's virtual cockpit with the 12.3-inch fully-digital instrument cluster would be available as optional feature from August this year. It would debut at the 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in August. Just so you know, Audi Virtual Cockpit was firstly introduced with Audi TT and then with the new-generation Q7 SUV. The A4 sedan is presented in eight paint shades: Ibis White, Brilliant Black, Floret Silver, Manhattan Grey, Brown Argus, Scuba Blue, Mythos Red and Tango Red.
The 2016 Audi A4 also gets NVidia Tegra chipset and has the feature of hotspot tethering due to an integrated SIM Card slot. Under the bonnet, the Audi A4 FWD variant has a 2.0L 4-cylinder TFSI petrol engine which develops 190bhp of top power and 320Nm of peak torque. The AWD variant is powered by the same engine, but is more powerful as it belts out 252bhp of maximum power and 370Nm of highest torque. It comes with Audi's quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system as standard. Both the engines are linked to a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission as standard. The India-spec model is expected to be launched in August 2016 with almost identical features and engine specifications as the Indonesian model.
