Lamborghini is on a roll for the past couple of years, thanks to the Aventador supercar first and now the Huracan. The recent member of the raging bull family took the sale of Lamborghini at its highest ever and was readily accepted across the globe. To honor its success and also celebrating 100th anniversary of Ferruccio Lamborghini, founder of the Lamborghini, the company has introduced three new members to the Huracan family at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show.
The ongoing Beijing Motor Show saw the introduction of three new Lamborghini Huracan models thanks to the sales number in China. China happens to be one of the world’s largest markets for the Italian exotic supercar maker. Lamborghini introduced the Huracán LP 580-2, the Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder, and the new Huracán LP 610-4 Avio limited edition at the motor show.
First up is the new LP610-4 Avio limited edition model which is the first limited edition of Lamborghini Huracán. The Avio made its international début at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and gets updated colours, upholstery, exterior decals and interior logos. The Avio is inspired by the Royal Air Force and only 250 examples of the limited edition will be produced to pay tribute to the world of aviation and aeronautics.
Speaking about the mechanicals, the Huracán LP 610-4 Avio comes powered by the same naturally aspirated 610 hp producing 5.2-litre V10 engine that powers the Huracán Spyder. Coupled with a 7-speed gearbox with double clutch, the Avio can do 0-100 kmph in under 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 325 kmph. The car is made of a hybrid chassis (aluminum and carbon fiber) which provides a power to weight ratio of only 2.33 kilograms per hp.
Next up is the Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 which will be the cheapest Lamborghini on sale today. The Huracán LP 580-2 skips the AWD setup and will be powered at the rear wheels only. While the weight is reduced, power is also compromised and the naturally aspirated V10 5.2-litre engine produces only 580hp. Mated to a 7-speed transmission and with a weight under 1400 kg, the LP 580-2 can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds and maxes out at 320 kmph.
Last but not the least is the Spyder version which is the open top variant of the Huracán. The Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder will be powered by the 610hp V10 engine which pushes the supercar from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds. Available in three different roof shades: black, brown and red, the soft top version of Huracan looks striking and different from the coupé. The lightweight roof opens with a push of a button in just 17 seconds up to a driving speed of 50 kmph.
The Lamborghini Huracán is one of the most sold cars ever for the Italian company and in 2015 alone, 2,242 Huracán units were delivered to customers. Just so you know, Lamborghini India also announced the launch of Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder in the country on 5th May, 2016. You can keep a tab here for all the launch related buzz.
