Chevrolet India has reduced the price of the recently launched 2016 Chevrolet Cruze in the country. The Cruze sedan now comes in a price range of Rs. 13.95-16.95 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) against the earlier price domain of Rs. 14.68-17.81 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). As one can see, the company has slashed the price of base variant by Rs. 73,000, while the range-topping variant is dearer by Rs. 86,000.
"We have strategically price positioned the new Chevrolet Cruze 2016 to simplify our go-to-market strategy in this key segment," a company spokesperson told PTI. The company intends to increase the sale of 2016 Cruze and hence, the price reduction was implemented. Chevrolet is currently struggling with its sales in India as over the past few months, the sales figures have deteriorated drastically. "We are focused on delivering products that buyers in India expect and deserve and with this we hope to serve an even wider set of customers, while providing performance, technology and great design underpinned by strong quality and great value," the spokesperson added.
Talking about the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, it features the new 7.0-inch MyLink infotainment system. Being powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, it is on offer with both the 6-speed manual gearbox as well as 6-speed automatic transmission. Just so you know, the American automaker announced an investment of Rs. 6400 Crores in the country. Marry Baara, CEO & Chairman, General Motors said that the company would stall the production at its Gujrat manufacturing unit and would focus on the consolidation of operations in its Maharashtra production facility.
