It is confirmed that the 2016 Honda Accord is all geared for the launch and courtesy to Zigwheels reporting about the launch date which is set for October 30 in India. Though, the confirmation has not been made by Honda Cars India for the launch date of the ninth-generation Accord. It is expected to be priced between Rs 28 lakh to 32 lakh (Ex Showroom) and will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Passat and Toyota Camry.

The India-bound Honda Accord will come loaded with a 7.7inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, 6 airbags as standard features, Active Cornering LED headlamps, rearview camera and Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS). The front fascia of the hybrid variants would get a Clear Blue accented grille along with a Hybrid badges to distinguish it from the standard model. It will be the only Honda product to get a Hybrid engine technology in the country.

The next generation Honda Accord was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be offered in both petrol and hybrid versions. Mechanically, the new Accord hybrid will be power packed with a combined system of a 2.0-litre Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC 4-cylinder unit along with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery of 1.3 kilowatt-hour capacity. The combined unit is capable to generate maximized power output of 215 bhp and with an amazing mileage of 23.8 kmpl (not ARAI-certified) with carbon emissions just limited to 99 gram/km.

Just like the Toyota Camry, the Honda Accord hybrid would also get benefitted from the country’s FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles in India) initiative.
