The Honda Civic has been creating a lot of news ever since it was completely remodelled and presented in the markets globally. If you remember, we reported about a Honda Civic Coupe Concept some time ago, during the New York Auto Show. While the model fired up the imagination of many enthusiasts, CivicX has come up with a rather potent new generation Type R rendering.
CivicX has rendered the next generation Honda Civic Type R, and it looks very aggressive and desirable coupe. While the renders are potentially viable and nothing over the top, if they will be converted to metal body anytime soon is a thing to see, as the 10th generation Civic Coupe was launched very recently, and the update is not possible before 2018.
To those who don't know, the Type R is the sports version of the famous Coupe from Honda and is known for its performance. And why are we so interested in the renders can be justified by the fact that there were some recent leaks of the patent design for the next generation Civic Coupe. And the artist at the CivicX has not used some wild imagination, but culminated the design from concept and patents.
This means that the design is near to the original and could very well be used by Honda. But it will be disheartening to see if Honda doesn't go for a Type R treatment for the Civic Coupe Concept for the next generation. And it's not only about the design, but also the power plant that will help the Civic Type R perform insanely well.
The Typr R could very well be powered by an engine stronger than the 2.0-litre turbo that does the duty in the current Honda Civic. The engine pumps over 310 PS and 400 Nm of torque. While the tenth generation Civic Coupe is already an all-new model, chances are that the new generation of Civic Type R will lose some weight.
And the weight loss is expected to propel the hot hatch from 0 to 100 kmph in less than the 5.7 seconds. And that would make it one of the most accomplished performance hatch in today's time.
