A couple of days after the facelifted 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV was spotted in Korea undisguised for the first time, the company has officially unveiled the 2016 Santa Fe in the home country South Korea. Hyundai Santa Fe sits on the top of the product portfolio for the Korean manufacturer and gained a positive response due to its looks and performance.
Hyundai has given a subtle facelift to the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe. In terms of the design, the facelifted Santa FE gets a redesigned bumper, new headlights and a reshaped radiator grille. Infact, the only visible changes are to the front fascia. The 2016 Santa Fe also gets new alloy design and in the rear, taillights have been changed. The Santa Fe will get three new body colors.
Hyundai has rolled out two diesel engines for the 2016 Santa Fe. One is the 2.0-litre engine that produces 186 PS of power at 4000 rpm, while the other bigger engine is a 2.2-litre unit that produces 202 PS of power at 3800 rpm. Both the engines are Euro-6 compliant and will be available in addition with five trim levels.
Hyundai has worked a lot on the safety this time and the 2016 Santa Fe gets an improved high strength steel chassis, that according to Hyundai, offers better crash test results. The facelifted Santa Fe also gets several new safety features like the Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection and Autonomous Highway Safety Driving.
In addition to the above mentioned safety features, the Santa Fe also gets a Around View Monitor, Dynamic Banding Light and Advanced Parking Steering Support System systems, as well as a premium JBL audio system. Hyundai will shortly reveal the details of the Euro-spec Santa Fe soon, but the India spec model may take some more time.
