2016 Jaguar XF is still a few days away from its official launch in India. But, prior to the launch, the British luxury marquee has revealed the variants, features and engine specifications of the sedan. The new-generation XF had its first public appearance in India at the 2016 Auto Expo in February, while it would go on sale by the end of this month. Jaguar XF would be challenging the likes of Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series and Audi A6 in the Indian market.
According to Jaguar Land Rover India official website, 2016 XF sedan would be launched in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants would flaunt 25t badge, while the diesel ones would boast of 20d. The 25t model would be offered in two trims: Prestige and Portfolio. On the other hand, the 20d model would be available in three levels: Pure, Prestige and Portfolio. As for features, the new-gen XF would come loaded with adaptive LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED tail-lamp cluster, 12.3-inch HD Virtual Instrument Display, 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro touchscreen infotainment system with 17-speaker, 825 kW Meridian Surround Sound System.
Underpinning the aluminium-intensive iQ architecture, the 2016 Jaguar XF is around 190 kgs lighter than its predecessor. The petrol variants would derive their power from a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine which belts out 237bhp of top power at 5500rpm and 340Nm of peak torque between 1750-4000rpm. The diesel variants would be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 177bhp of maximum power at 4000 rpm and 430Nm of highest torque between 1750-2500 rpm. Power would be transmitted to the rear wheels of all the variants, enroute an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 2016 Jaguar XF is expected to be priced in a range of Rs. 50-65 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
