German luxury car manufacturer, Porsche plans to launch the new generation 911 in the country. It is expected to make its Indian launch on June 29 this month. Earlier, the sportscar made its public debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, USA. The new model range that is being offered in the country includes will be offered in 911 Carrera Cabriolet, 911 Carrera S, 911 Turbo, and the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.
The new generation 911 Turbo features newly formed frontal with models adopt significant with side-mounted airblades and redesigned headlamps with LED DRLs housed in it. It also wears a new central air intake. In terms of features, it boasts of Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA), rear axle steering, Porsche Traction Management (PTM) four-wheel drive, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) and the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).
Speaking of the powertrain, the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S are powered packed with a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine and both the Turbo siblings will crank out a maximum power output of of 533bhp and 572bhp, respectively. While, the Carrera Cabriolet and Carrera S draw their power from the similar flat-six engine, which is good for 370bhp and 420bhp, for the respective versions. Transmission duties will be carried out by Porsche's PDK dual-clutch gearbox that will be offered as standard.
The Porsche 911 is expected to range between Rs 1.5 crore going up to 3.0 crore.
