Skoda India is all set to launch the 2016 Superb sedan in the country. The updated Superb has been spied testing several times on Indian roads, albeit with camouflage. Now, the company has listed the sedan on its official website and has even released a couple of images of the India-spec model, hinting that the launch is quite near. Just so you know, 2016 Skoda Superb had its world premiere in February last year at the company headquarters in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic.

The sedan would flaunt bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and a LED tail-lamp cluster. The sedan would be locally manufactured in India, quite identical to the current model.
Mechanically, the 2016 Skoda Superb was announced with five petrol and three diesel powertrains at the time of its global debut. The Euro-spec model is being offered with a 1.4L petrol and 1.6L diesel motor. However, the India-bound sedan is expected to be available with either the 1.8L, 4-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol engine or the 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol engine. The diesel variants are expected to be powered by the 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged TDI engine. As for gearbox, Skoda could offer the 6-speed DSG automatic, 7-speed DSG automatic, and a 6-speed manual. The 2016 Superb would be presented in both front-wheel-drive as well as all-wheel-drive (4X4) avatars. The pricing is expected to start from Rs. 23 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
