The new generation Toyota Innova was launched in Indonesia in November 2015, and nod now its time for Indian shore to feel the tread of this MUV. The Innova Crysta made its Indian debut at the auto Expo 2016, after which dealership started booking in India at a token amount of Rs 50,000 while delivery will start its post launch in May 2016. The new Innova will be offered in three trims of G, V and Q with engine options include a 2.4-litre GD diesel engine and a 2.0-litre VVT-I petrol engine.
The range topping variant of the new generation Innova will features more comfortable 2 + 2 + 3 seating configuration, with the centre row filled by two captain chairs instead of a bench. With its extended length, it measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width and 1,795 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. All seats are in “zebra-style” fabric and wood trim can be seen on dashboard, steering wheel, rear doors, top of the tray tables and back of the front centre console. The new Innova also offers air vents for all rows with rear AC controls above the middle row.
Mechanically, the Innova Crysta will be available in a brand new 2.4-litre GD four-cylinder diesel engine with VNT Intercooler and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with Dual VVT-I. The 2.4-litre GD four-cylinder diesel engine with VNT Intercooler is capable to dish out 149 PS at 3,400 rpm and 360 Nm of torque when connected to an automated manual transmission, and 342 Nm of torque with manual transmission. The petrol version is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i that delivers 139 PS at 5,600 rpm and 183 Nm of torque at 4,700 rpm with MT and AT options.
Scoring 4-star in the ASEAN NCAP tests, it boasts of features like 7 airbags, Hill Assist Control and VSC. It also gets HAC, smart key and automatic power windows.
