A few new spy shots of the 2017 Chevrolet Beat have surfaced, revealing more details than its last appearance. The second generation of the Chevrolet Beat is scheduled to hit the showrooms next year and bookings are expected to open in the first quarter itself. The upcoming Beat is also expected to feature the same platform as the current ones.
These spy shots of the rear section reveal that the new breed of Beat gets a similar design as its predecessor. However, minor changes have been made, including the re-positioning of the registration number plate and the addition of a wider handle for the tailgate. Moreover, one of such spy shots reveal that the front profile of the car looks similar to the design revealed by the General Motors India earlier this year.
The interior receives some changes to get a premium, updated look. It comes with a dual tone interiors, with a combination black and beige colour. The beige coloured fabric upholstery and a fresh looking dashboard looks premium. Moreover, the large AC vents with silver trim and chrome finished bezel around, along with a further updated instrument cluster with a chrome accent render an enhanced design. The infotainment system, on the dashboard will feature a 7-inch MyLink screen. Under the bonnet, the new version of this car is very much identical to that of the previous variants. The 936cc engine produces a maximum power for 56.3bhp at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 142.5Nm at 1,750 rpm.
To top it all, along with this 2017 version of the premium Chevrolet Beat hatchback, the future Beat models will also include a crossover and a sub-4m sedan, namely, Chevrolet Beat active and Chevrolet Essentia respectively. As a matter of fact, these two future concept based cars were showcased in the 2016 Auto Expo Show.
