2017 Ford EcoSport facelift would finally be launched on November 9, 2017 in the Indian market, reports Autocar India. It would come with restyled exteriors and updated interiors, while debuting a new petrol engine. The EcoSport facelift has been spotted several times undisguised on the roads near the company's factory in Chennai, which also indicated that the series production has commenced. Ford EcoSport would take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Honda WR-V and Mahindra TUV300 in the Indian market.

Talking about the cosmetic updates, the sub-compact SUV comes with a restyled front fascia with chrome lined single piece grille and wider headlamps. The headlamps will have projector beams and LED DRLs integrated. It would ride on newly-designed 17-inch alloy wheels, while the only substantial update at the rear end is the new spare wheel cover. Rumormill is abuzz that the American automaker might introduce a new Titanium S trim package which would comprise of new black headlamp inserts, dual-tone paint scheme and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the EcoSport facelift would get a refreshed centre console with a SYNC 3 compatible floating touchscreen infotainment system. The steering wheel and instrument console would be new as well.

Mechanically, the 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift would be introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants would debut the recently unveiled locally-built 1.5L 3-cylinder Dragon engine with maximum power of 121bhp and peak torque of 150Nm. It would be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission, with power transmitted to the front wheels. There is no word whether the 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine would be on offer or not. The diesel variants are unlikely to see any change and could carry the same 1.5L TDCi engine with same power and torque figures. The prices are expected to be the same as current model range, i.e. Rs. 7-11 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
