2017 Honda City receives 5,000 bookings within first 12 days

Honda Cars India recently launched the City facelift on January 14, 2017, while the bookings started ahead of its launch at a token amount of Rs 21,000. By introducing the 2017 City sedan, Honda has clicked the right key for the customers, where it has received 5,000 bookings in just 12 days of booking. The car gets tweaked exterior as well as interior, while carrying the same set of powertrain.

For the exterior, the new Honda City gets headlamps with LED DRLs, LED fog lamps and taillamps, rear mounted spoiler with LED on it, 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels and LED lamps for the rear license plate as well as an electric sunroof on the exterior, depending on the variants. The new Honda City is available in five variants, wherein S is the base variant with a petrol engine, while SV, V, VX and ZX are available with petrol and diesel powertrain.

Inside, the car comes packed with host of features like an LCD infotainment system, while the higher trims gets an LCD infotainment system with mirror link smartphone connectivity, voice recognition and a rearview camera. It also features automatic headlamps, leather seat upholstery, leather wrapped armrests, automatic wipers and LED cabin lights.

 

Mechanically, the City is powered by a same 1.5-litre i-VTEC and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit. The petrol variants is good to make 117 bhp of power with 145 Nm of top torque and comes coupled to a 5-speed manual or a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic gearbox with paddle shifters on higher trims. On the other hand, the diesel version can easily churn out 99 bhp and 200 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In terms of safety, the car comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, engine immobiliser and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard features.
