The South-Korean auto manufacturer, Hyundai has recently showcased the 2017 Hyundai ix25 at the Chengdu Motor Show in China. The Indian-spec Hyundai Creta is similar to the China-spec Hyundai ix25 and is due for an update. The facelifted version of the India-bound model is expected to be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo in New Delhi and is highly anticipated to be launched in the Indian market by mid-2018.
The India-bound compact SUV is likely to borrow its styling and features from the Hyundai ix25. The updated Hyundai ix25 gets some minor changes in styling with a revised front and rear profile. The front-end of the model receives a new hexagonal grille with chrome outline, large projector headlamps with repositioned LED daytime running lights and redesigned fog lamps. The side profile undergoes minimal changes and looks perfectly designed. At the rear-end, the new model features new tail lamps, newly designed bumper and dual exhaust.
The inside cabin of the model will undergo some technical changes, while the interior aesthetic will remain similar to its predecessor. The dual-tone dashboard will feature a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with updates in the feature list. New technology is expected to be introduced for safety and comfort of the passengers. It will feature six airbags and a Hill-start assist control to prevent roll back during uphill start.
The Indian-spec model will feature both the diesel and petrol engine options. The facelifted SUV will be equipped with a more powerful 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which can produce a maximum power of 128 bhp against a peak torque of 211 Nm. The engine will come mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It is also expected to sport a 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engine options of the upgraded Hyundai Verna.
The facelifted version of the India-bound Hyundai Creta is expected to be priced between Rs. 9.5 lakh to Rs. 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it would take on newer rivals like the Nissan Terrano, Renault Duster and Honda BR-V in the compact SUV segment.
