Being the archetypal executive sedan, the Hyundai Elantra is well known among the people in the country, while in Korea, the model is sold under the name 'Avante' that is now available in a more powerful 204hp version called the Avante Sport. It is based on the next-gen Elantra which is scheduled to launch in India later this year. Today, Hyundai unveiled the all-new 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport, which is the most Elantra model ever.
Both the Sport model will also share exterior and interior updates, giving it a subtle, classy look. The Elantra features a new front bumper with larger intake vents, larger wheels, a rear diffuser panel, red ‘turbo’ badge strapped on the grille and headlamps gets a new horizontal LED daytime running light. On the side, you will see new side skirts, while at the rear, it gets new tail-lamps with new LED inserts, redesigned bumpers with faux diffuser. Inside, the theme continues with red stitching on the flat-bottom steering wheel and aggressive sport seats and faux carbon-fibre inserts.
Speaking of the engine-spec, the Elantra Sport is power packed with a 1.6 Turbo GDI four-cylinder engine that is capable to crank out 204hp and a peak torque of 265Nm. Choice of of transmission options are - a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters. The Elantra will share a new multi-link rear suspension, replacing the less sophisticated torsion bar suspension, which will hopefully reward a more agile handling.
