The all new 2017 Hyundai Verna has managed to create a lot of buzz around even before officially hitting the showrooms. The new generation sedan is all set to be launched on the 22nd of August. However, just a few days before the official launch is slated to take place, a new colour variant of the car has been spotted in a stockyard.
This new colour, Fiery Red, is one of the four new colours in which Hyundai will be offering the 2017 Verna, the other three being Siena Brown, Polar White and Flame Orange. The car that spotted had a protective covering on the rear tail lights, headlamps and the front lip spoiler including the fog lamps.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna gets a big hexagonal cascading grille along with sleek swept back headlamps. Being built on the new K2 platform, the sedan comprises of 50% of high strength steel to make the body sturdier.
The new generation of the Verna gets some good set of features on the inside as well. The lower end grades get a 5-inch touchscreen system while the top end variants get a 7-inch unit, which is integrated with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. Some other features of Hyundai Verna include 6 airbags (on the top end variant), rear parking camera, auto-sensing door lock and parking sensors.
On the mechanical side, the new Hyundai Verna comes with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor can produce a maximum power of 121 bhp along with 151 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the diesel mill can belt out 126 bhp of power and a highest torque of 260 Nm. The transmission duties will be done by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The bookings of the new Hyundai Verna has already commenced. The company is, however, planning to deliver 10,000 units by Diwali this year, which will be a big task for the company considering its competition being the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Honda City.
