The 2017 Hyundai Verna has made its world premiere at the Chengdu Motor Show 2016 and it will go on sale in China first, before making its way to the Indian market in 2017. Just like the recently launched Elantra, the next generation Hyundai Verna is based on the company’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language.
Talking about the exterior, the 2017 Verna gets all new exterior styling and dimensionally measures 4,380mm in length, 1,728mm by width, stands 1,460mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,600mm. With its Fluidic design philosophy, it sports a large hexagonal grille flanked by sleek headlamps and projector lighting housed in it, LED daytime running lights, sporty bumper that houses angular foglamps, C-Pillar has been redesigned, and at the rear, you will find LED taillamps and moulded spoilers. Inside, it shares equipment and some design cues from the new Elantra. The China-bound model gets an all-black upholstery with silver accents around the centre console and AC vents, 8 inch touchscreen AVN system, automatic climate control and start/stop button.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna will be available in two engine options – a 1.4-litre petrol that makes 100hp and a 1.6-litre petrol engine that is good to develop 123hp of maximum power. the engine will come connected to a 6-speed manual as standard and a 6-speed automatic gearbox will also be on offer as an option. In India, it will continue in the 1.4- and 1.6-litre derivatives.
