Hyundai India has launched the all-new Xcent sedan at an introductory price of Rs. 5.38 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, New Delhi) in the country. The 2017 Xcent sedan comes in both petrol and diesel fuel trims in five grades: E, E+, S, SX and SX (O). In addition, the petrol guise gets an automatic variant in form of S AT. The facelifted sedan comes with an array of cosmetic updates at the outside, while getting several new features in the cabin. Mechanically, the petrol variants remain the same, while the diesel ones get a new powertrain.

The new sedan, adoring Hyundai's 2.0 Fluidic Sculpture design language, flaunts signature cascade design front grille with horizontal chrome slats and sweptback headlamps with LED (Daytime Running Lamps) DRLs. The restyled bumper with fog lamps sum up the updates at the front fascia. It rides on dual-tone dimaond cut alloy wheels with first-in-segment Wheel Air Curtains. The side profile remains the same with the Pull type Chrome door handles and ORVMs with turn indicators, while the rear end features new two piece wrap around tail lamps, dual tone bumper, and Shark Fin Antenna. As for the features, the 2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift comes with Fully automatic temperature control (FATC), Rear AC vent, Cooled glovebox, Driver seat height adjustment, Steering mounted controls, Rear power outlet, Tilt steering, Smart key with push button start, Rear seat armrest with cup holder, Leather wrapped steering wheel, etc. to name a few. Though, the biggest highlight of the new sedan is the 7.0-inch touchscreen Audio/Video/Navigation (AVN) system with smart phone connectivity (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink, Smartphone Navigation) and Voice Recognition.
As far as safety is concerned, the all-new Hyundai Xcent gets dual front airbags as standard fitment across the entire variant range. In addition, several advanced features in form of Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Central Door Lock, Impact ssensing Auto Door Lock, Rear Defogger, Reverse Parking Sensors and Rear Parking Camera are on offer with the top-end variants. Mechanically, the 2017 Xcent facelift comes in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants are powered by the same 1.2L Kappa Dual VTVT engine which develops maximum power of 82bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 114Nm at 4000rpm. The manual and automatic variants deliver mileage of 20.14kmpl and 17.36kmpl (Both ARAI Specified). Coming to the diesel variants, they get the new and more powerful 1.2L U2 engine in place of the 1.1L engine. It churns out top power of 74bhp at 4000rpm and highest torque of 190Nm between 1750-2250rpm, while returning a fuel economy of 25.40kmpl (ARAI Specified).
