The next generation Land Rover Discovery has been spotted yet again doing some test rounds. In the spy images, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery is wearing a heavy camouflaged and a production body. Entering its fifth generation, the all-new Land Rover Discovery will adopt the latest design language as seen on the products on slot such as Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
JLR previewed the idea of the next-gen Land Rover Discovery in the form of Land Rover Discovery Vision concept that was showcased at the 2014 New York Auto Show. And going by the spy shots, it is confirmed that the production version will largely be inspired by the concept. The model is based on the PLA (Premium Lightweight Architecture) platform just like the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover.
Coming to the engine configuration, the all-new Disco will be available with the choices of a of 2.0- and 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options globally, while electrification could be done in the initial stages, limited to only mild-hybrid systems.
The car is expected to make its debut at the 2016 LA Auto Show, November this year, while the 2017 Discovery will make its European launch by the end and of this year, whereas in the North Amercia and other region, it could go on sale in the first of the 2017.
