The new facelifted version of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is the latest product from the house of the Indo-Japanese automaker and is expected to be launched in the upcoming weeks. However, some of the specifications of this car have been revealed by some reports.
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is expected to hold a lot of physical tweaks like the revamped front section. The bumper looks much more muscular now and the front grille will get a generous amount of chrome on it. The HID projector headlamps will be replaced by LED projector headlamps. However, it will only be limited to the top two trims only. These top trims will even get 16-inch precision cut alloy wheels. The tail light graphics are new too.
The car will be offered in the same trim levels as the current generation, that is, Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Urban Blue colour tone will be replaced with the new Stargaze Blue. Moreover, the Smartplay infotainment system will now be featuring the Android Auto connectivity.
The new facelifted Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will come with the same 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine as the current generation model, which produces a maximum power of 88 bhp at 4,000 revs per minute and a peak torque of 200 Nm at 1,750 revs per minute. The transmission duties will be done by a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. However, the company will be discontinuing the bigger 1.6-litre DDiS engine which produces 118 bhp power.
All of this said, the company is not planning for a petrol powertrain or an automatic transmission gearbox. The car is considered to be a premium crossover in the passenger car segment and is sold through the company’s Nexa retail chain. It competes against the likes of the Honda WR-V.
