While recently leaked images of the Next Generation Maruti Suzuki Swift were out last weak, and ahead of the Maruti Swifts’ market launch next year, for the first time the car was caught doing some test rounds. As you can see in the spyshots the car is heavily camouflaged and the new Swift will get redesigned exterior. The new Swift will ride on the “New generation platform” that also underpins the Baleno premium hatchback and is expected to arrive in the Indian car market in 2017.
As compared to the current model, the new swift gets an aggressively looking front fascia that will get a more sculpted body with playful detailing, more curvy bonnet flowing down on the new bumper featuring a large hexagonal grille and new headlamps. Looking on the side of the new Swift you will see appealing black accent over the pillars especially on the C-pillar.
For the inside, referring the previous leaked images, the 2015 will be offered with a new all-black design contrast panels, a new 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, twin pod instrument dials, centre console with touchscreen infotainment system, Automatic climate control.
Speaking of the engine spec, the next generation Maruti Swift will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol version will most likely feature a 1.2-litre K-Series unit along with a 1.0-litre Boosterjet unit, while the diesel engine could be a Suzuki's in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine. The engine could be offered with a transmission options of a five-speed manual, an automated manual transmission or a CVT unit.
