Past month, the 2017 Maruti Swift has been spotted many times and we have come up with many spy shots. But in this heavily spy shot, you get a clear picture regarding the wide appearance of the next generation Swift. It came into light when the exterior and interior images were revealed at a dealer conference in Europe. It is rumoured the next-gen version could get SHVS mild hybrid technology for the European market.
Going by the spy images, the model is a standard variant as we couldn’t find the twin exhaust tip as seen the Sport version. In appearance, it looks wide from front and rear wheel arches, redesigned front fascia and rear end with a revamped tail lamp unit. The silhouette some how is in a close resemblance to the current model. The new model features some key highlights that also include a newly designed headlight unit hidden due to the heavily camouflage. It is being rumoured that the car will sit short in length, but wider and is expected to reduce some weight too.
Under the hood, the Euro-spec 2017 Swift will be powered by a 1.2-litre K12C DUALJET, which is naturally aspirated and a 1.0-litre K10C DITC turbocharged petrol engines, while the Sport variant will get a 1.4-litre K14C-DITC BOOSTERJET turbocharged petrol motor, same as seen on the Suzuki Vitara.
More details are yet to be released by Suzuki at its press conference, which is scheduled for September at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
