Japanese automaker, Nissan has unveiled the new 2017 GT-R at the New York International Auto Show. Being the facelift model, the new GT-R gets a complete makeover across the front end, but the new GT-R will boasts of a new look both from the inside and out, and moreover it will have enhancements in terms of driving performance and now it can deliver about 570 PS of power. the 2017 Nissan GT-R will be available from this summer.
“As the icon of Nissan’s driving performance, the GT-R continues to evolve. With the signature V-Motion grille, the GT-R now possesses the latest Nissan design language. Its exceptional aerodynamic performance and upgraded interior have given the GT-R a more mature character, which will continue into the future,” said Nissan’s Executive Design Director.
Adding to this, Hiroshi Tamura, Chief Product Specialist of the GT-R, said, “The new GT-R delivers a heart-pounding driving experience at all times and on any road for whoever sits in the driver’s seat. We have continued to push its performance boundaries to the outer limits - it’s even more potent than before. At the same time, more refinement has been added to take the entire driving experience to an entirely new level. We’re proud to bring you what we feel is the ultimate GT that possesses amazing performance, newfound civility and a rich racing history.”
The car’s exterior received a complete makeover across the front fascia. The front fascia gets a new chrome matte finish “V-motion” grille represents one of Nissan’s latest design signatures, enlarged to provide better engine cooling and features an updated mesh pattern. The new Nissan GT-R gets a new hood that flows from the grille, a newly-designed front spoiler lip and front bumper, the headlights have been made more sharper than before.
Not only this, the side sills have been extended to improve air flow. The rear of the car also received a thorough makeover. While the GT-R’s signature four-ring rear lights remain. On a closer look, you’ll find the belt line that separates the lower black section from the body panel has been heightened to give the car a wider and more aggressive look from the rear.
Inside, the new GT-R has been changed from that all Nissany look and gives much more of a luxury with sports-style feel. The interior boasts of a completely new dashboard and instrument panel covered with high-quality leather. It features An enlarged 8-inch touchscreen monitor with integrated navigation, multi functional steering wheel with paddle shift mounted to it.
Under the hood, the 2017 Nissan GT-R is power packed with a 3.8-litre 24-valve twin-turbocharged V6 engine, each unit handcrafted by its own Takumi technician that now delivers 570 PS @ 6,800 rpm and 637 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a refined 6-speed dual-clutch transmission that features smoother shifts and less noise.
