The Skoda Octavia is one of the top spec sedans from the Czech-based automaker. The company will be launching the 2017 version of the Octavia sedan in India tomorrow, the 13th of July. This facelift will be getting the car to its third generation in the country.
The 2017 Skoda Octavia gets a revised front section that exhibits taller grille finished in piano black. The front bumper is wider with bigger air dams and sleeker fog lamps. The quad-headlamps get an all-LED treatment on them. At the rear portion, the bumper is slightly revised and gets LED taillights.
The inside of the new Skoda Octavia is plush and premium with ambient lighting of 10 colours. There is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which has almost all of the connectivity features like Google’s Android Auto, Apple’s CarPlay and MirrorLink. It also gets a coloured MID screen on the dashboard cluster. Other technical features include hands-free parking and driver fatigue alert.
Skoda will be using the same set of engines for the new generation model as well. There will be a 1.4-litre petrol which will be producing 148 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque and will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. The 1.8-litre petrol engine will be capable of making a maximum power of 177 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm, which will be coupled with a 7-speed automatic transmission gearbox. The 2.0-litre diesel engine will be capable of making a maximum power of 141 bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm. This engine will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
First launched in India in 2013, the Skoda Octavia completes with premium C-segment sedans like the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Hyundai Elantra. Expect the prices to be somewhere between Rs. 15 lakhs to Rs. 22 lakhs exclusive showroom only.
