Ferrari has launched its 812 Superfast model in India at a base price of Rs 5.2 crore (ex-showroom). A host of personalisation options are also available at an additional cost for the customers. The front engined, rear-wheel drive V12 model is essentially a replacement for the F12 Berlinetta. As per company’s claim, the new model in the company’s list of V12 Ferrari GTs can sprint to 100 km/h from stand still within a mere 2.9 seconds while achieving a top speed of 340 km/h.
The supercar propels on a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 petrol unit with a towering power of 800hp at 8,500rpm which makes it the most powerful series-production Ferrari of all times. Besides, the supercar is also credited to be the first Ferrari to get an electric power steering (EPS). The EPS is an integral part of the supercar’s dynamic control package with virtual short wheelbase of 2.0 (rear-wheel steering), F1-Trac (progressive traction control), SSC (Side Slip Control), and a third-generation e-differential being among several others.
It features a two-seat layout on the inside and comes with a heavy personalisation kit to further enhance its aesthetics. That said, customers can choose from a wide range of bespoke options such as seat stitching, steering wheel finish, etc that can be had for an additional premium. It is expected that Ferrari will also launch its latest foldable hard-top GT, the Portofino in India which is expected to carry a hefty price tag of Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom).
