A new set of images of 2018 Ford Aspire facelift have surfaced online soon after a video featuring the updated subcompact sedan went viral on the inter-web. The variant in the spotted images seem to be the ‘Titanium’ grade of the 2018 Ford Aspire which is seen with the FLY audio system. It is believed that the automatic transmission will be offered only with the Titanium variant, albeit the top-spec Titanium+ will come bereft of it.
The FLY infotainment unit will additionally come with an FM music player, Aux-IN, Bluetooth, medial playback from USB offline maps by MapMyIndia, telephone controls and rear view camera with dynamic guideline. Although, it misses out on prominent connectivity features-Android Auto and Apple CarPlay that are very common these days. Other bits such as voice command will also be left out. The centre console on the Titanium trim will get neater as a bunch of buttons and controls will be removed from it with the introduction of the FLY audio unit. This would make the dashboard cleaner.
The cabin will continue to feature beige-black dual colour scheme and will sport revised panels that will equip a push start button. Just so you know, the 2018 Ford Aspire facelift is the sedan derivative of the Europe-spec 2018 Ford Ka+. Aesthetically, it carries a similar mesh grille with a chrome surround. The bumper has been restyled which is highlighted by chrome trims near the fog lamps. At the side, it gets new multi-spoke alloy wheels that are offered on both Titanium and Titanium+ variants. While at the back, it sports a new bumper which comes with faux air vents.
Changes have also been made under the hood as it ditches the 1.2-litre, four cylinder unit from the pre-facelift version for the all-new 1.2-litre, three cylinder engine from the Dragon family of engines. In terms of power, the new petrol unit makes 93 bhp against 120 Nm of torque and will be paired to the new-generation five-speed manual gearbox from Getrag (code: MX65). It will additionally get an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The diesel variants, on the other hand will continue to draw power from the 1.5-litre turbocharged unit from the existing model which puts out 99 bhp along with 215 Nm torque. Transmission duties on the diesel engine will be handled by the 5-speed manual unit.
