Ford, the American automaker has revealed the latest version of the popular Mustang Bullitt at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show. The previous two editions of the Mustang were launched in the year 2001 and 2008. It was named as Mustang Bullitt for paying tribute to the 1968 thriller movie, Bullitt, which starred Steve Mcqueen and was best known for its car chase scenes featuring the same power-packed car.

The outer body of the new Ford Mustang Bullitt is painted in Dark Highland Green, besides the black paint scheme option. It sports 19-inch ‘torque thrust’ alloy wheels with disc brakes and gets a black front grille. Inside the car, there is a heated leather steering wheel and a green-themed digital instrument cluster.

A performance exhaust system, open air induction system and a Shelby GT350 intake manifold are some of the other technical features incorporated into the car. The car also packs leather-trimmed Recaro sports seats and the Bullitt Electronics Package that comes with features like navigation, driver memory seats and mirrors, sat-nav and blind spot monitoring.

The 2018 Ford Mustang Bullitt comes with a tuned version of the Mustang GT’s 5.0-litre V8 engine which is capable enough to produce a power of 475 bhp against a peak torque of 569 Nm. It claims to attain a maximum speed of 262 kmph, which is 13 kmph more than the previous Bullitt edition. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The American carmaker introduced the new Edge ST and the Ranger pickup at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show along with the all-new Mustang Bullitt. The company is yet to decide on the number of units to be produced for this limited edition vehicle.
