2018 Honda CR-V launched at Rs. 28.15 lakh

Honda Cars India has finally launched the most-awaited SUV, the 2018 Honda CR-V at a starting price of Rs. 28.15 lakh for the petrol variant, Rs. 30.65 lakh for the 2WD diesel variant and Rs. 32.75 lakh for the AWD diesel variant (all prices, ex-showroom, India). In the Indian market, the new CR-V will compete with the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan. The fifth-generation Honda CR-V is new in almost all prospects. It has got changes in the overall design and in terms of mechanics, and for the first time, it features a seven-seater configuration for the Indian market as well.

Dimensionally, the new SUV model measures 4,592mm in overall length, 1,855mm in width, 1,689mm in height for the AWD variant and 1,679mm in height for the front wheel drive variants, with a wheelbase of 2,660mm.

In terms of equipment, the Honda CR-V 2018 model boasts of a new centre console with piano black and wood finishing, and also gets more of push buttons and not those boring conventional knobs. The insides of the car get premium upholstery, a 7-inch multi-function display and touchscreen infotainment system, multi-angle rear view camera, panoramic sunroof, 8 speakers, including tweeters, electric parking brakes, automatic climate control, push button start/stop, and remote engine start in the petrol variant. For the safety, the new model comes packed with airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, pre-tensioner ELR seat belt and Isofix child seats.

Under the bonnet, the all-new 2018 Honda CR-V SUV is offered in both petrol and diesel guises. The diesel version draws its power from a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that makes 118bhp of power with 300Nm of peak torque, and comes paired with a 9-speed AT along with paddle shifter. The diesel variant is available in both front wheel drive and all-wheel drive system. The petrol variant is available with a 2.0-litre engine that cranks out 152bhp of max power and 192Nm of peak torque. The petrol version comes paired to a CVT gearbox and front wheel drive system.

The all-new Honda CR-V is available in 5 exterior colour options – Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel, Metallic and Orchid Pearl.
