2018 Hyundai Creta SUV launched at Rs 9.44 lakh

Snapshot: Hyundai launched the facelift version of one its best selling product, Creta at an introductory price of Rs 9.44 (Ex showroom, Delhi) for the petrol variant.

Hyundai launched the facelift version of one its best selling product, Creta at an introductory price of Rs 9.44 lakh (Ex showroom, Delhi) for the petrol variant. The new Hyundai Creta will be offered in six variants for the petrol and seven variants for the diesel and in total that makes 13 trims. The compact SUV competes with the likes of the Renault Captur, Maruti S-cross and Honda BR-V.

Speaking of the exterior, the compact SUV gets a revised front grille and headlamp clusters, redesigned front bumper with silver accents and fog lamps with C-shaped LED DRLs. At the rear, the car gets tweaked tail lamps and a newly designed bumper. The higher variants of the models gets dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels and a sunroof. Inside, the new Creta is similar to the outgoing model except for minor changes like the metallic trim around the air-conditioning vents. Other features include a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, sliding front armrest, automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, and cruise control.

Just like the Tata Nexon, it also gets a smart key band that is used to lock or unlock the doors and tailgate of the car and also works as fitness monitor, which can display your step count, calorie count and has a sleep monitoring function. It has a time display with an inbuilt alarm and incoming call alert as well.

For the safety, the new Creta comes with features like driver and passenger airbags and ABS will be standard across all variants, whereas the range-topping variant gets 6 airbags, Electronic Stability (ESC) Control, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and Hill Start Assist, whereas the rear parking sensors and camera are offered on all variants above E+.

Mechanically, the refreshed Creta will be offered with the same set of engines as seen on the outgoing model. These include a 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel with 89bhp and 126bhp respectively, and a 1.6-litre petrol with 123bhp. A 6-speed manual transmission will be offered as standard, while a 6-speed automatic will be optionally available with the 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engines.
