Hyundai has revealed the upcoming i20 facelift for the 2018 model year. The crossover based on the Elite i20 premium hatchback looks largely unchanged, but thanks to subtle updates it appears more stylish. The car is expected to be launched in Indian market sometime later this year. The South Korean auto manufacturer is still tight-lipped about its launch, but we can expect the car to be priced similar to the current model.
As it appears, the new Hyundai i20 Active appears unchanged at the front. The front grille, headlamp and bumper are similar as the current model. There are projector headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. However, it gets redesigned taillights and updated tailgate. The crossover runs on sporty looking alloy wheels. The 2018 Hyundai i20 Active also gets a Phantom Black contrast roof option along with two new exterior colour options.
While the exterior of the car is largely unchanged, interior gets new seat upholstery pattern. The black themed interior doesn’t look much different compared to the current model. So far, Hyundai have given only couple of tweaks to the facelift version of the i20 Active, but not any major changing touch.
The Hyundai i20 Active is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.4-litre diesel motor in India. Transmission options for the car include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed manual for the petrol and diesel variants respectively. It would be great to see the facelift version of the car getting dual-pedal technology.
