As Amazon Alexa and Amazon Echo Dot Device starts taking centre stage as the must have accessory for every household, 2018 Jeep Cherokee will have it linked through Uconnect. This will allow owners to remotely start/stop engine, lock/unlock doors, check fuel levels, set up destinations on Navigation models and view health reports of your vehicle. US customers will be getting an Amazon Echo Dot device with a 3-month Amazon Music and Audible plan. The 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude shall surely make it to our shores, but the Uconnect package is still a question mark. The Tech Connect Package vehicles have an 8.4-inch infotainment screen which has 3G connectivity and acts based upon voice commands through Alexa.
Uconnect keeps driver’s focus on the road by accepting user voice commands. To get started, owners need to register access with Uconnect and activate the skill in the Alexa app. After gaining access and linking your Amazon account, you simply ask Alexa to execute the required service. Ned Curic. VP Automotive, Amazon Alexa states, “Voice is a big part of the future because it can simplify everyday tasks like sending directions to the navigation system and more. We are excited that Jeep is bringing this level of connectivity to customers”. A trial pack for equipped vehicles of connected services, you also get a heath report for your car on a monthly basis, alerts if there are problems and the app allows owners to locate their vehicles. Such convenience is definitely to trickle down to all Jeep vehicles in the near future.
