India Kawasaki Motors, as a part of revamping its existing models with new models of 2018, has launched the updated Versys 650 at a sticker price of Rs. 6.50 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) in the country. 2018 Kawasaki Versys 650 would be locally assembled at Chakan, Pune production facility, while continue to be available in same green and black colour combination. But what it has new is a gear position indicator and windscreen with 2 inches of tool-free adjustment which will add comfort for highway cruising.

Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors says “Kawasaki’s Versys 650 is a core machine in the mid-capacity sector, which has been in continuous demand in European market ever since it was launched in 2006. In India it has started gaining attention in last couple of years with increased number of seasoned riders.” Worth noting upgrades in Versys 650 of 2018 are the long-travel suspension and sporty 17 inch wheels, which makes this motorcycle a sport partner, city friend and mountain road conqueror, just everything all in one. For Versys 650, India is a very ideal country mainly because of its diversities in roads” added further Mr. Yutaka Yamashita.
"There are some top-class highways, adventures routes in mountain areas and of course increasing number of ring roads in many cities. Kawasaki’s torquey 650cc parallel twin engine and lightweight chassis will provide ample of fun and comfortable riding," said the company in an official statement. Being powered by a 649cc parallel twin DOHC engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection, the 2018 Kawasaki Versys 650 has a maximum power output of 68bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque performance of 64Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission. The Versys 650 will be available from mid-November, while it directly challenges the Benelli TNT 600 GT in India.
