Jaguar Land Rover India has introduced the 2018 Discovery Sport in the country with a suite of advanced technology features including Wi-Fi Hotspot and Pro Services in addition to the existing InControl Apps feature. Though, the company hasn't revealed the variant-wise price of the new SUV in the Indian market. The Land Rover Discovery Sport would be powered by a 2.0L Ingenium diesel powertrain. The Indian arm of Tata-owned British luxury marque has been on a launching spree as in no time three new vehicles, including the all-new Discovery and Range Rover Velar, have gone on sale.
Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL), said: “The Discovery Sport has been enriched for Model Year 2018 to provide a more connected experience to our tech-savvy customers in India. This emphasizes our commitment to offer the very latest in in-car infotainment and connected technologies.” A range of additional services that further enhance the vehicle’s infotainment capabilities have been included under ‘InControl – Pro Services’. The infotainment system now comes with the Route Planner App, which allows one to navigate to the end destination and sync routes with the vehicle’s navigation system. It is available on both the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
In addition, a 'Commute Mode' has been introduced which learns a regular pattern of route and displays diversions if there are delays on the existing regular route. The 'Sharing ETA' is yet another standout feature as it allows sharing of updates with certain contacts on expected time of arrival (ETA) via SMS. Speaking of the Wi-Fi Hotspot, it uses a customer sourced SIM to provide in car access to a 4G hotspot for up to eight devices. This allows passengers to simultaneously stay connected, work or be entertained throughout the journey. Land Rover Discovery Sport would take on the likes of Mercedes Benz GLC, Volvo XC60, BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in the Indian market.
