The new Maruti Ciaz facelift has been surfacing online from quite some time doing its test rounds. Earlier, the new version was expected to make its launch in the first week of August, which has now been delayed to the second half of the next month. In a way, it will help Nexa dealership to clear out the remaining stock. Maruti Suzuki officially teased the new Ciaz ahead of its launch that clearly reveals it’s headlamp cluster with LED daytime running lights. The video also reveals the new honeycomb grille of the model.
Overall the exterior design and profile of the 2018 Maruti Ciaz is very much similar to its outgoing model. That apart, the car would come with some minor changes such as the redesigned bumper, fog lamp, tail lamps, alloys, to name a few. Inside, it would get a new dashboard - featuring faux wood inlays, larger instrument cluster, cruise control and touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Interestingly, the 2018 Maruti Ciaz will packed with a new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that would replace the current 1.4-litre unit. The four-cylinder mild-hybrid SHVS engine makes 103bhp with 138Nm of top torque. The petrol variant is expected to come with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. On the contrary, the diesel engine would be the same 1.3-litre DDiS 200 engine that produces 89bhp of maximum power with 200Nm of peak torque, when paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
